The War in Iraq
“There has to be another way”
We rely on specific sources for current updating. Our information comes from Network, Maryknoll World Watch and Maryknoll Newsnotes. We respond and take action through the numerous e-mails that are sent to us from others working for justice. We are closely linked and collaborate with our Northeast Justice Promoters.

As a Subcommittee on Iraq we join with our North American Dominican Family through the “Call to Action” document that encourages us in our commitment to bring an end to the war in Iraq. We keep within our minds and heart the truth “We have family in Iraq.”

A group of our retired sisters participate in a new justice action with the hope that it will help to bring a peaceful solution to the violence in Iraq. The sisters have each “adopted” one of our NJ Senators or Congressional Representatives. Every month the “adopted” legislator receives a personal card from the sister telling him/her that he/she is being prayed for by that sister. These sisters also pray the “Ministry of Peace for Iraq” prayer written by Tecie Lardner, OP (Blauvelt).
