PRESENTERS!
Katherine
Abbott is a mother, environ-mental activist, leader
of the New Jersey Catholic Coalition for Environmental
Justice (NJCCEJ) and a Board member of GreenFaith. She
has chaired many interfaith statewide conferences on the
environment. Presently Kathy chairs the Chatham Township
Environmental Com-mission, the Earth Awareness PTO
Committee of a local Public School, the Environmental
Stewardship Committee at St. Patrick Parish in Chatham,
and is a member of the NJDEP Environmental Justice
Advisory Council.
Katherine Andrews,
founded KA Connections-Engaging The Soul to
assist people in experiencing the sacred in everyday
life. Her passion is inspiring others through her
writing and photography. To that end she creates and
presents workshops, classes, days of reflection, retreat
days, and prayer experiences that incorporate the beauty
and wonder of creation. Katherine holds an MA in Culture
and Spirituality and a BS in Education. She is also a
Reiki Master.
Rev. Al Berner,
is a priest of the Newark Archdiocese. He has given
several Priest and Deacon Retreats and has also been
involved in retreats for college students. He has been
involved with the Jesu Caritas Priest Fraternity for
thirty-five years. Presently he is Chaplain and Campus
Minister at Caldwell College Caldwell, NJ.
Elizabeth Michael Boyle,
OP, is a Caldwell Dominican with a Ph.D. in
English from Drew University. Both of her recent books,
Preaching the Poetry of the Gospel and
Science as Sacred Metaphor, use poetry to
explore contemporary spirituality.
Michael Brough,
is Director of Planning and Member Services for the
National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management.
Previously, Michael was a member of the RENEW
International Service Team, serving as Director from
2001-2006. Michael is an experienced presenter and
teacher, and worked for the Scottish bishops in the area
of justice education. He has worked with and trained lay
ecclesial ministers in dioceses and parishes across the
United States and in twelve different countries. Michael
has an MA in Social Anthropology from St. Andrews
University, Scotland, a Masters in Pastoral Studies from
Loyola University, New Orleans. He lives in Chatham with
his wife and three daughters.
Pat Crowley, OP
is a Caldwell Dominican, presently the Director of
the Lumen Center at Caldwell, NJ. Sister Pat has worked
in education as an administrator as well as an
elementary and secondary teacher. She worked for twelve
years as a staff member for RENEW International. She
holds a Masters in Christian Spirituality from Creighton
University, Omaha, NE.
Kathleen Detlet,
has been involved in education for almost thirty
years. When not in the classroom, she offers retreats,
staff development days, bereavement training, and has
offered numerous talks on spirituality. At present, she
is a teacher of English at Summit High School and an
adjunct professor at Caldwell College where she teaches
in the Religious Studies and Psychology Departments. Dr.
Detlet has a Masters in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan
University, a Masters in Counseling from Seton Hall
University and a Doctorate in Ministry from Drew
University. She is on the Advisory Board for the
Pastoral Ministry Graduate Program at Caldwell College.
Carol Gaeke, OP,
is a Dominican of St. Catherine de Ricci from PA,
who does retreats, days of recollection and theology
presentations. She has written a book on Women in
the Bible: Encountering God in your own Garden.
She is the Director of Personnel and Ministry
for her community, and has worked in religious education
at the parish, diocesan and college level for over 30
years. She holds a BA in History, an MA in Religious
Studies and an MA in Counseling. Sister is a regular
columnist for The Catholic Telegraph
of the Cincinnati, Ohio Archdiocese.
Marion Goldstein, PTR,
holds a BA in Sociology from Caldwell College and an MA
in Psychology from the New School of Social Research.
Marion is a practicing therapist with a special license
in Poetry Therapy. Her collection, Psalms for the
Cosmos received the prestigious Red Wheelbarrow
Award for artistic merit.
Ginger
Grancagnolo, Ed.D., OPA
is a Lay Dominican Associate. She is a
lecturer, author and private counselor. Thirty years
experience in the fields of education, psychology, and
theology has earned her many degrees and a sound
practical approach in helping others toward
self-assertion. She has created many healing CD
workshops and is the author of Who Would I Be If I
Weren’t So Afraid? The Mother Principle, and The Father
Principle. Dr. Ginger is an adjunct professor at
Bloomfield College in the Department of Education. She
is completing a doctorate in theology.
Maria Stella Herrera, RJM,
is a member of the Congregation of Jesus and
Mary. She is involved in the National Catholic Council
for Hispanic Ministry. Her experience has included
teaching on the elementary and secondary level, adult
education and ministry amongst farm workers. She has
been the coordinator of Hispanic Ministry at the parish
and diocesan level and has served internationally on
special projects for her congregation.
Frances Kelly
is a native of Scotland. She has a degree in Music from
Glasgow University and over forty years experience in
church music. She has appeared on several recordings,
principally as a singer. She is also a published
composer and arranger. Before coming to the States she
was a teacher in the Japanese school near Paris.
Robert Kelly
is a native of Scotland who has worked in several
European countries. He is a specialist in liturgy and
sacramental theology, a graduate of the Paris Liturgy
Institute. Bob has been involved in directing liturgy,
assisted by his wife, Frances. He is the author of two
books on Holy Week, and the composer of many liturgical
songs, including some for Holy Week. He is also the
co-editor of Britain’s best-selling Catholic hymnal.
Currently, he is working as an Editor-in-chief for RENEW
International publications.
Catherine
Gerard Kirchner, OP is a Caldwell Dominican who has
a Masters Degree in Administration. She has served
parishes as an Elementary Teacher, Principal, Director
of Religious Education and a Pastoral Minister. She
comes with a wide experience of parish life and has
offered many programs in spirituality.
Jane Selinski., LCSW,
MT-BC, NCPsyA, is a Jungian Analyst; a board
certified Music Therapist and Fellow as well as a Guided
Imagery and Music Practitioner. She holds a degree in
Religious Studies is certified in spirituality and is a
teacher of Mandala Art Assessment. Dr. Selinske is an
experienced group facilitator and teacher who utilizes
art, music, writing and ritual in her individual and
group work.
Terrence Moran, C.SSR.,
is a native of Danbury, CT., and has given retreats and
workshops on theology and spirituality throughout the
United States and overseas. He has worked in parish
ministry, taught theology, and worked for nine years as
the Director of Hispanic Ministry in the Paterson
Diocese. Fr. Terry is the author of two books and has
written for Commonweal, America and Church Magazine. He
serves as a consultant to religious congregations and is
writing a book on Margaret Anna Cusack, a 19th
century Irish theologian and social activist. He
currently lives in Stirling, NJ.
Msgr. Charles Theobald,
is a retired priest of the Newark
Archdiocese. He is the former director of the Exodus
Program (Diocesan Sodality), and has been a hospital and
high school chaplain. He has been involved in giving
retreats and days of recollection.
