On Saturday, April 19, 2008, the Caldwell Dominican Sisters celebrated the Diamond Jubilee (60 years of religious life) of five Sisters. The Jubiliarians gathered with their community of Sisters in the Motherhouse Chapel at 4 PM for a joyful liturgy honoring a total of 300 years of Dominican life and mission.
The Jubilarians are:
Sister Grace Margaret Haggart, OP (St. Catherine of Siena Convent, Cedar Grove);
Sister Catherine Gerard Kirchner, OP (Lacordaire Convent, Upper Montclair);
Sister Margaret Lucille Peterson, OP (St. John Convent, Caldwell);
Sister Mary Ann O’Connor, OP (St. Catharine Convent, Spring Lake);
Sister Emma Patricia Murphy, OP (St. Catherine Convent, Caldwell).
Rev. Edward Hines, Pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Chatham, NJ, presided at the liturgy. Sister Eileen Ivory, OP, offered a reflection focusing on the lived example of hope and fidelity that the Diamond Jubilarians are for all the Sisters in their congregation. The liturgy was followed by dinner in the Motherhouse Dining Room.
