The Commission on Global Issues works in collaboration with the Dominican Sisters in Committed Collaboration (OPSCC), the North American Dominican Justice Promoters, and other social justice organizations. Our goals are threefold: to educate, advocate and provide direct service in behalf of the poor and marginalized of society. The areas of concern that engage us are peace and security for all life, racism, economic justice, human trafficking, and migration/immigration. Climate justice is of major concern, and we continually view this as a lens through which we address all justice issues of human behavior. The effects of political, social and personal decisions have direct consequences on our rights and duties to preserve a pristine environment. We have taken public positions/stances that address justice issues and they challenge each member of our Dominican Community to not only promulgate them but to actively engage the public through our triad approach to social justice: study/educate, advocate and take direct action when and where possible.
