On Sunday, November 12th, the Caldwell Dominican community welcomed six new associates: Justin George, Alexandra Giorgio, Ann-Marie Nazzaro, Kathleen Quinn, Anne Utley, and Christine Victori. The extended community gathered with loved ones and friends of the candidates in the Motherhouse Chapel for a prayerful, heartfelt commitment ceremony with the new associates affirming their calls to follow the charism and mission of Saint Dominic and the Caldwell Dominican sisters.
The service included a reflection by Core Team member Cathy Cappiello in which she spoke of the fiery passion within each candidate, which will guide them through their Dominican journey just as the Spirit did for the apostles on Pentecost. The new associates were also given a warm welcome by Prioress Luella Ramm, OP, who reminded them that they will always have the friendship, support, and prayers of the Caldwell Dominican community at large. They are energized and excited to deepen their connections to Dominican life and further their work by joining the sisters in their social justice advocacy, environmental activism, and dedication to their spiritual life through prayer, community, and contemplation. Each of the new associates already has a strong connection to the sponsored works of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell, including Lacordaire Academy, Mount Saint Dominic Academy, and Saint Dominic Academy.
The ceremony and prayer service were followed by a lovely reception of food and fellowship. The day was a success thanks to the dedication of the Caldwell Dominican Associate Core Team led by Associate Director Kaitlyn Tashjian. Special thanks go to Kathy McFarlane, Johanna Desiderio, Cathy Cappiello, Jacqueline Alworth, and Advisor Sister Donna Marie O'Brien, OP, for their help and support.
Congratulations to the new Caldwell Dominican associates!
