A gift of cash or a check is the most popular way to support the Sisters. Gifts of cash are ordinarily tax deductible up to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) in the year of the contribution. Please make checks payable to "Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell."

A gift or a pledge to the Annual Fund assists the sisters with daily living expenses as well as larger areas of need. Your annual contributions help support:

• Maintenance of the renovated Motherhouse and of Sacred Heart Convent
• Care of the retired and infirm sisters
• Building endowment funds for future support

Choose a gift that will last. A gift fund is an alternate gifting opportunity for birthdays, anniversaries, or other milestone events. 

Establishing a fund for charitable donations in lieu of receiving gifts allows family and friends the ability to honor you by contributing to a worthy cause that is close to your heart.

For additional tax savings, you may wish to consider a gift of appreciated securities. Gifts of securities can provide significant tax benefits; most importantly, you can avoid or reduce a capital gains tax.

To make a gift of securities, please contact Maria Cianci (973)403-3331, ext. 46, or please complete and mail a “Letter of Intent” which includes your name, address, and phone number to make us aware of your intentions. 

We are happy to assist you and your broker with the information necessary to transfer the securities.

To donate individual gifts to honor or memorialize a special person in your life, please include a note with the name of the person or persons you are honoring in addition to the name and mailing address of the person(s) to whom notice of this gift should be sent. 

A memorial/honor card will be sent to the family mentioning the name and address of the donor (donation amounts remain confidential).

Matching gifts allow for an easy way to double or even triple your donation. Please check to see if your company supports employee philanthropy by offering a matching gift program. By taking advantage of your corporate matching gift program, you can maximize the value of your own gift at no additional cost. 

Matching gift forms are generally available through your employer. When you enroll in a matching gift program, the Sisters of Saint Dominic will benefit from your company’s generosity.

Calendar Giving Program

Automatic Monthly Payments

Sign up online for automatic monthly payments by credit card or EFT and designate your gifts to your choice of program(s).

A planned gift through a will, estate plan or another type of deferred gift, such as one through an IRA or retirement fund, life insurance policy, or charitable trust, gives you an opportunity to provide future support for the Caldwell Dominicans as well as opportunities for short-term and long-term tax benefits.

We encourage you to consult with a financial advisor, accountant or attorney about structuring charitable giving in a way that best meets your philanthropic and financial goals.

Contributions of $250.00 or more may be pledged over a 12-month period. 

If your gift is for the Annual Fund and you would like to complete payments within the fiscal year, please note that the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell operate on a July 1st—June 30th fiscal year. 

If you are making a gift for a special project, gifts may be pledged over longer periods of time. Typically, pledges of these types are encouraged to be completed within five years.
